Venice - Northern Italy
Rome - Capital
Amalfi Coast - Southern Italian Coast
We walked along the cobblestones of the city of Rome, tracing the footsteps of Roman soldiers from millennia ago. Street musicians played soft melodies as bustling crowds watched and stepped by. The Colloseum is the ellipitical amphitheater in the center of the city just east of the Roman Forum. It was an incredible site to see! The towering ruins of the Colosseum stood as a dramatic reminder of ancient gladiatorial battles under the blue Roman sky.
Pantheon
Our next stop was the Pantheon where sunlight poured through the massive open eye of the dome. Unfortunately, we were not able to tour the Pantheon but the site was incredible to in-person. We peeped through the massive door and admired the massive columns. We finished the day by stopping off to get gelato.
The breathtaking white marble of the Trevi Fountain gleamed brilliantly against the backdrop of Rome's historic buildings. Water cascaded beautifully over carved mythical sea gods and rocky cliffs into a vast, shimmering blue pool. The towering statue of Oceanus stood proudly in the center, commanding the dramatic, baroque masterpiece. Intricate stone carvings depicted tales of health, abundance, and ancient water sources pouring into Rome.
Saint Peter's Basilica
The massive Michelangelo-designed dome of Saint Peter’s Basilica rises majestically into the Roman skyline as a triumph of Renaissance engineering. Four rows of towering Doric columns frame the sweeping oval of Saint Peter's Square, welcoming visitors like open arms. Inside, the sheer scale of the golden ceilings and towering marble pillars leaves visitors looking upward in absolute awe.
